EFRIS System-to-System Integration in Uganda
EFRIS system-to-system integration connects a business's accounting, ERP or point-of-sale software to the Uganda Revenue Authority's Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution. Instead of entering a sale in two systems, your software sends the transaction through an integration and stores the fiscal details returned by URA.
EFRIS Gateway provides a REST API for this connection. Your application sends JSON over HTTPS; the gateway submits the document to EFRIS and returns the fiscal document number (FDN), verification code and QR code when URA accepts it.

Start with the system you use, its version, the number of taxpayers you need to connect and your invoicing workflow. Agree how fiscal details will appear on printed invoices, who will handle rejected transactions and how staff will reconcile documents before going live.
What is needed before integration?

- Correct VAT registration status, product codes, units of measure and tax mapping.
- Access to the source system's integration features and a test environment.

Is EFRIS Gateway the Uganda Revenue Authority?
No. It is integration software that connects business applications to URA's EFRIS service. URA operates EFRIS and issues the fiscal details.
Does a connection guarantee every invoice is accepted?
No. URA validates each document. Invalid product codes, tax mappings or taxpayer configuration can cause rejection. Your workflow needs a clear way to correct errors before resubmitting.
Can our developer integrate an existing system?
