Looking for a provider to connect Tally to URA EFRIS in Uganda? That is what we do, for TallyPrime and Tally.ERP 9. You keep invoicing in Tally as you do today. Each invoice goes to URA, and its fiscal document number (FDN), verification code and QR code come back to print on the document your customer receives. Nobody re-keys anything into the URA portal.
Tally keeps its company data on your computer or server, so there is no online account to approve. The connection runs where the data is, in one of two ways.
TallyPrime and Tally.ERP 9 can both answer requests on your network. A connector reads new sales vouchers that way and writes the URA result back. Nothing inside Tally is changed, which suits an installation that is already customised.
Tally's own extension language puts the fiscal document number, verification code and QR code on the voucher and on the printed invoice format your customers already know, and can fiscalise as the voucher is accepted.
Either way, the computer holding the company data has to be on when invoices are raised. On a multi-user licence that is the server; on a single-user one it is the accountant's own computer.
URA needs more than the invoice itself. These are sent from Tally and kept in step.
Each invoice is fiscalised with URA as it is raised in Tally, and comes back with its fiscal document number (FDN), verification code and QR code to print.
Raised against the invoice they correct, which is how URA requires them.
Registered with URA through the connection, each with URA's unit of measure and its tax type. Nothing is typed into the URA portal.
Opening stock and later movements are reported, because URA refuses a sale of goods it holds no stock for. Services carry no stock.
A business buyer's TIN goes with the sale, as URA requires for business-to-business invoices.
Standard, zero-rated, exempt and deemed VAT, and excise duty where it applies — each sent as you recorded it.
Connecting the two is the easy part. These are the places where Tally and URA think about a sale differently, and each is settled as part of the setup.
Tally lets you reopen or delete a saved voucher. Once URA has issued a document it stays issued, and the only correction is a credit note. A change to a fiscalised voucher is handled as that correction, not as a second copy of the same sale.
A sale entered as an accounting voucher names no stock item, which is normal in Tally. URA needs every line to name something registered with it, so those sales are given a mapping once, at setup.
Nos, Pcs and Units are Tally's names. Each item is matched to a unit from URA's own list when it is registered.
You are told why in plain words: URA's own code and message, and what to do about it. You correct it in Tally and it is sent again. Nothing is changed on its way to URA, so your books and URA's records always agree.
Most businesses want the first. Software companies and teams with their own developers usually want the second.
We set up your EFRIS environment and the connection to Tally. You carry on working in Tally exactly as before.
Talk to usYour developers send invoices and receipts to URA through our API as ordinary JSON, or licence the whole platform as source and run it themselves.

No. Tally has no EFRIS feature for Uganda of its own, so it needs a connection. Once connected, each sales voucher is fiscalised with URA and comes back with its fiscal document number, verification code and QR code.
Both. The connection runs on your own network, either through Tally's XML interface with nothing changed inside Tally, or through a TDL customisation that puts the fiscal details on the voucher and the printed invoice.
A fiscal document cannot be changed once URA has issued it. A change to a fiscalised voucher is handled as a correction with a credit note, not sent as a second copy of the same sale.
No. Your items are registered with URA through the connection, each with URA's unit of measure and its tax type. Goods also have their stock reported; services do not.
It depends on your Tally version, whether it is customised, and how many companies you connect, so we quote once we know what you have. Most of the time goes into getting your EFRIS environment ready with URA.
